Built on steep cliffs overlooking the mighty deep chasm, it has always been the subject of stories, legends and interests. It boasts the best-preserved castle in Istria, now a museum, which, among other things, keeps old Istrian bells. Below the castle, the river Pazinčica descends, while the well-known Pazin Chasm is still keeping its secrets. The cave, with its impressive lakes, is still a challenge for speleologists while the whole area abounds in beautiful natural masterpieces of waterfalls, streams and indented relief. Apart from plenty of historical and cultural sights, exceptional traditional cuisine, excellent Malvasia and homemade grappa, Pazin and its surroundings offer varied places for an active holiday. Sports and adventure enthusiasts will find plentiful activities: ziplining, mountain and recreation cycling, a large number of walking and hiking trails surrounded by beautiful natural phenomena and almost forgotten old churches and palaces.
